Duron 800 smack down on P3 800?

Hello all.

I have a P3 800 and an Duron 800 I plan on running the benchmarks a few more times before I post them but so far the P3 has been smacked around like the little over-priced b*tch that it is. 180 dollars vs 81 dollars.

Just wanted to see if anyone else has played with a duron vs a p3?

I've compared my Duron 600 to my P3 550. When doing everyday straight applications the the duron is right on par and in some apps faster.

However on my P3 I can burn a CD, surf the web and play Solitare while waiting for my CD to burn. If I try it on my Duron things start to slow up a bit.

I use my Duron for overclocking and gaming mainly, in that I have no complaints.

it's funny i have the same two proccessors, and the pIII800eb always benchmarks better than the duron 800, it's been suggested to me that the difference lies in the L2 cache 256 vs. 64k, however if you get away from the benchmarks, it's really difficult to see the difference with the naked eye
