Well... I was thinking about it, and I've decided the temperature jump from idle to full load on my processor is quite a bit more than I'm used to seeing. Overclocked, it will go from 31C to 51C. I've had this system running fine for close to two months now, and the important specs are as follows:

Duron 800@950(was certified for 1100, but isn't stable at those ranges)
Monster II Heatsink w/ 29cfm fan
ABIT KT7 Raid mobo

With light application use the processor usually jumps close to 38 or even 40 with more intensive use, and for gaming and cpu intensive operations it runs at 51. This is in a room that's room temp. I even took the heatsink off, lapped it, and reapplied the thermal paste and achieved the exact same temperatures(and I made darn sure that heatsink was on nice and tight). Anyone else with durons seeing temperature jumps this high?

51C is well within the specs for these chips. Just be glad it runs as cool as it does when idle.

For example, my T-Bird 1GHz w/ FOP-32 will run 50C under full load, but will only go down to about 35 idle.

If in doubt, make sure you have good airflow through the case.
