Dusting my PC

Hello,

I've been wanting to clean my pc, but I'm still not sure about some things. (FYI: I didn't built my pc myself).
1. If I would remove my GPU should I lay it down on the side of the circuitry or on the side of the fans?
2. Is a cardboard surface a good surface to work on and to lay your components down on?
3. How much compressed air will I most likely need? There is a small layer of dust in my pc case and on my GPU and fans but it's not really that much compared to some other pc's. And compressed air is pretty expensive in my country (around 10 dollars for 400mL).

Thanks in advance,

-Philip

Don't remove any components for cleaning - - it's not necessary.

Just blast interior with a can of compressed air with the case in normal upright position so you can keep the can held upright while you blast the motherboard components. Make sure you buy a can with a straw, otherwise you won't be able to clean thoroughly.

Buy cans of compressed air from Amazon if possible, much cheaper than elsewhere.

1 can should work fine but takes a bit longer because you need to let the can heat back up after a short use.
I usually remove the video card only, hold it in you hand and hold the fan still when cleaning.
Always hold all the fans still so the blades can't spin to avoid burning out the bearing/bushing.
