Deciding on a cheap monitor for my first PC build. I intend to play games on this build, but also edit video and develop games. I found a really cheap AOC monitor here on Newegg, but it's DV-I only. However, the reviews say that the picture is amazing, and it's all around a great monitor. Do I really need HDMI? This monitor seems to be fine without it.

The monitor:

1. It's DVI-D, not DV-I. DV-I isn't even a thing.
2. DVI-D and HDMI are both digital and give the same video quality at 1080p 60Hz. DVI-D, though, can be used for higher resolutions and refresh rates, so it's technically better.

So, no, you don't need HDMI. DVI-D will give you the same video quality.

If it doesn't come with a DVI-D cable, then make sure you get one (and make sure it's DVI-D exactly, not DVI-I or DVI-A or something). Also, can you tell me the GPU you will be hooking this monitor up to?

GeForce GTX 660. The card is made by EVGA. And sorry about saying DV-I, that was an accident.
