DV or DVCPRO in QT exports

I noticed that iMovie 4.0.1 exports Full Quality DV as DVCPRO.

Unlike DV, DVCPRO forces audio locked and @ 48 kHz. Another difference
is that PAL DVCPRO uses 4:1:1 instead of 4:2:0 for color sampling (NTSC
uses 4:1:1 for DV and DVCPRO).

PAL DV 4:2:0 can be resampled to PAL DVCPRO 4:1:1. A source below says
that "multigeneration work in 4:2:0 is much more subject to visible
degradation than multigeneration work in 4:1:1".

So: is it best to use only DVCPRO in QuickTime .dv exports so no
multiple DV <-> DVCPRO resampling is necessary when exporting and
importing the same material?

BTW MPEG-2 is 4:2:0 or 4:2:2, and does not support 4:1:1.

OK, iMovie 4.0.1's PAL "Full Quality DV" export preset seems like a bug:

iMovie can re-import such PAL DVCPRO .dv file but at least my Sony
TRV320E refuses to play it: the camcorder screen remains blank and only
audio is played if the clip is DVCPRO.

So it seems that it is best to avoid the PAL Full Quality DV export
preset and use the expert settings instead, and choose plain PAL DV
stream with 48 kHz audio.

I'm still confused about the locked audio setting. I heard that PAL DV
audio is always locked. So does the lock checkbox in the expert settings
make any difference whether it is checked or not??
