DVD and Electrical Tape

I am trying to replace a DVD Drive from my old computer. The only problem is that the top DVD slot has the screw holes in a spot that does not match up with the DVD Drive (not if I want it to be even with the rest of the system. Anyway, I could use electrical tape to tape the metal part of one DVD Drive to the other on the inside, so it would look just the same from the outside. Is this a good idea? Is it a hazard of any kind?
