Question DVD/CD-rom shows up as Disk Drive...doesn't work obviously

Internal DVD/Blu-Ray drive stopped working. Takes forever on boot up, as Windows tries to figure it out. Tried all sorts of fixes from many google seaches...no joy. registry changes, removing devices etc... all the usual suspects.

In device Manager, it shows up under 'Disk Drives' as an unknown device unknown, and I don't have a 'DVD / CD-Rom Drive' category.
I know this isn't a lot of info, but since I have tried all sorts of stuff, I wasn't sure if anyone had any knowledge on this particular issue? I can add more if anyone has an idea.

If you've already tried replacing both of the connecting cables, then it probably just died and you'll have to replace it.
