Recently i got an email, in which i was offered some software for copyng DVDs with a DVD rom and an ordinary CD writer.
Is it possible or is it just a trick to get some easy money? Maybe some of you have already used it. I'd like to know is it worth trying?

It is physically impossible for a cdrom or cdrw to read, let alone write dvds. The laser beam used in creating cds is much more coarse and less precise when compared to high frequency, thin beam dvd lasers. The best this software could do is rip the dvd and size it down (thus deteriorating the overall quality) to fit onto a cd. If you can play it on any dvd player, then it is probably burned as a vcd, which is a primitive version of dvds. You can download free software which will do this and many other things without paying the $39.95
Remember, this offer never says it will copy a dvd to another dvd disk: if it does anything it deteriorates the quality until it will fit onto a 650MB cd rather than 4 or 5GB dvd

Go to http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/index.html to see more about this program. Apparently it is just a link to some free download utilities.
