DVD Decoder needed

I need a Dvd decoder for a Dell xps m 1210. I have the latest windows media plaer but my dvd drive will not play movies. It gives me a message that there is no DVD decoder.

If you aren't hell bent on using windows media player, you could use VLC, a community favorite.
