DVD Drive is not working

My DVD drive was working great from the last 3 years. A few days back it stopped working.
When i press the button the tray doesn't come out.
The tray came out when i inserted a pin in the hole. I put a dvd in the tray and slid it back in but it is not reading my DVD's.
I can hear it tyrong to run the DVD but doesn't work.
Please help me quick. Dad needs to do his office work.
P.S. - I have a desktop and I have a LG DVD Drive.

If the tray won't open it could be a power related problem or the drive mechanism has failed. As mentioned above the drive probably needs to be replaced. If you can't or don't want to replace the drive you could open the computer and reseat (unplug and replug) the data and power cables.

So... the LG drive is on your computer? If it is then put it on his computer. If it isn't then just buy a new one it's only like $13-20.
