DVD drive making a noisy sound on startup

well, I think my DVD drive/writer is broken or something. because when I run the PC its making too much noise for a while, and there's no CD in it. is there anyway to fix it? its Samsung 24x DVD writer SH-224

Hey there, SasiExpLosioN.

Unfortunately there's not much you can do with DVD-Roms in terms of troubleshooting. You can try it out with different cables or a different computer, to see if the issue still persists. You could try writing a few disks to see how it performs as well.
Basically if turns out that it's not working properly, you can only get a new one or replace this one if it's still under warranty.

Sorry, but as an official Western Digital representative I can't really recommend any products/devices, which are not under the WD brand. However, I'm sure that if you specify your budget and post a different thread about suggestions on a DVD-ROM, the guys from the community would be more than helpful and will give you some options.
