DVD drive not working

Hi,
I have a lenovo b570 laptop which came with a Slimtype DVD A DS8A5SH (dvd writer/reader). The problem is when i put in a dvd the reader does not read it and even does not give any errors.The green light on the panel where i put dvd only blinks for a second and then shuts of. There is also no sound of dvd moving as there was earlier(only a slight noise) when it was ok.

Things tried-
1. Re installing drivers.

Hi, maybe you have a bad contact at the connector for the DVD, take out the DVD drive, you should have just one screw to remove, and put it back after. It's worth a try, you have nothing to lose if it fixes the problem.

Thanks for your suggestion i will check it out and tell if it worked or not.
