Dvd drive wont read disk

I have two identical computers with identical O/S and hardware. On one computer the DVD drive works fine. On the other computer the DVD drive will not read the disk. The behavior is that the disk will start to run then stops, then starts again and stops, etc. until it finally gives up. I have installed the DVD from the good computer into the bad computer, but it behaves exactly the same way. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the driver. No luck.

I have an ASUS P5K Pro motherboard in both computers.

I can only think of cleaning the lens on the dvd-rom. Try shooting some compressed air in the drive bay or if you have a cd lens cleaner use it.
