DVD issues with Windows 11

I recently updated my Dell to Windows 11 and now I discovered I am unable to read or burn any discs. I have followed several tutorials that suggested to remove filters in regedit. After that did not work I tried updating all of the drivers that dell listed and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the devices in device manager. I also tried using an external drive that is a known working dvd drive and I have the same results. I know it is a software issue and not hardware related. Nothing I have done so far has worked. Any help would be appreciated.

Dell, laptop opr desktop? Did you make sure you're on the latest BIOS version for your machine?

What OS were you on prior? By update did you upgrade to Windows 11 using the internal upgrade path? If you did, reinstall the OS after you fabricate the installer for Windows 11 using Windows Media Creation Tools.
