DVD Moviefactory 2 or 3 ???

Does anyone use either or both??? I have not seen the new moviefactory
3 but I hear it has many new options for authoring. However I used to
use moviefactory 2 in the past mainly because it gave me an easy way
to put vcd compliant files on a dvd-r. Hence allowing me to have over
7 hours of video on a dvd at mpeg-1 format. This suited my needs as I
had a good many vcd files that would take up much less space on a
dvd-r. Has anyone heard of this not being in the new version? I saw a
post on the web that say that they can no longer do the vcd on dvd
procedure and get an error message that says this...

"There is a conflict between your project audio setting and the 'Treat
MPEG audio as non-DVD compliant' option."

Does anyone know for a fact whether you can still put vcd compliant
mpeg files on a dvd in moviefactory 3? If not then I guess I will have
to stick with the moviefactory 2.

Thanks!

You can create a VCD mpeg file using MovieFactory 3 and burn it to a
DVD disk (I've done this), but you can't create a vcd when writing
directly to a DVD disk.
I have also managed to mix VCD Mpeg1 and DVD Mpeg2 files on the same
DVD disk using Moviefactory.
The biggest letdown with this program is the manual which seems to be
missing a lot of the features that is built into Moviefactory.

How about lipsync? After editing DVD-RAM in version 2, the lips would
sometimes go out of sync with the audio. Any evidence of that in
version 3?

Really??? I wish there was a diagram on how to do this as I have
downloaded the trial version and I try to do it like I did in
moviefactory 2 and I get the error message
"There is a conflict between your project audio setting and the 'Treat
MPEG audio as non-DVD compliant' option."

How long was the video when the lips went out of sync?
I've only tried short video clips to see what moviefactory can do and
there was no sound sync problem.

Usually near the end of a normal 2 hour DVD.

All files are vcd standard mpgs. That were created in TMPGEnc. I have
always done it that way. Now moviefactory really only converts the
audio tracks of these files to dvd standard.

There may be a difference in:
A importing a VCD file
B getting Moviefactory to create a VCD file from video that is sent
to the computer.

I have been successful using method A but have not tried method B.
If there is a problem then you might have an update file for
Moviefactory soon.

I liked the "direct to disk" option in Moviefactory when selecting the
fast edit option. I could finalize the disk and still add more video
clips to the disk.

All files are already in the vcd format when I bring them into
moviefactory.

Vcd video is DVD compliant, while Vcd audio is not because of being
44100 Hz, while DVD requires 48 KHz. So an authoring program only
needs resample the audio, while keeping the video.

I have not tried it with MovieFactory 3 but maybe it will help

Q: How can I put 6 VCDs onto one DVD?

A: In DVD Movie Factory ,you can input 5-6 VCDs on DVD disc .
Please try the following steps:
1.Please select DVD as a new project. Then click "Next".
2.Please go to Project Setting (Press Alt+J) , click "Change MPEG
Settings" and select "CIF,352x240,1500kbps,6 hrs per DVD " and don't
check "Do not convert compliant MPEG file". Then, click OK.
3.Please click "Add video" to input .dat files .(We suggest you copy
..dat file from VCD disc to hard disk first. )
4.Next ,you could select menu template then go to next step to burn .
