I have Dish Network going into a AV Receiver with HDMI, then I have ARC HDMI going out to my ARC IN on my TV. I control the volume with the Dish remote and the AC Receiver even turns off/on with the Dish remote so I can put the AV Receiver in the other room.

How can I add a DVD player in the other room at the AV Receiver so I can control it with the Dish remote in the other room? Do they make DVD players where it's own remote can be anywhere in the house and not aimed at it directly in front of it? If so, what is that called? IR?

IR is light, which needs to be visible
CEC is used for controlling devices with just single remote over HDMI cable

but if youre asking about remote controller itself, then its bluetooth (samsung uses bluetooth for magic remote, but it has IR too for powering up)

alternatively you could get smart bd/dvd player and controll it with WIFI with phone/smart home assistant

So you think my Dish Network remote is communicating to it cable box through Bluetooth?
