DVD player's framing is misaligned with a black bar in the middle.

My Toshiba DVD player SD-4800 has a frame that is off center so the bottom half of the frame is projected on the top half of the TV and the top of the frame is on the bottom of the TV screen and there is a black bar in the middle. It's similar to film projectors that have a framing slider to adjust the picture up or down.

Does this happen on all DVDs played? When you enter Menu/Setup screen of the DVD - is it still sliced?
Check the cable between the DVD and TV as well, for loose contact.

Yes, it was happening with a variety of DVDs, and I haven't checked the Menu/Setup screen, but that's a good idea.
I was actually able to get it back to normal by turning the unit off and on a few times.
