DVD + R disc not recognized

Hello, I have been doing regular backups with Norton of my files to a disc in Drive E. For some reason this time it says the disc isn't seated in the drive and recognized but disc is sitting where it should. I can't figure out the problem.

Try another blank disc. Try to see if it the DVD drive can read something you already burned. Also test an "original" DVD in the drive like a DVD movie. Check the cable connecting the DVD drive to the mobo.

Lastly, it could just be the DVD drive has finally failed.
