I wasnt sure where to ask this so I went here
Anyway, I need to know if it is possible to take my home recorded movies
from my Sony DVD recorder and edit them with windows movie maker or another
good editor. I would need this too cut all the parts from my dvd that are
useless.

I have a couple of questions...

1. Is it possible to edit these recordings on windows movie maker(if no,
another half-decent editor)
2. Would I have to convert the files into a different format (if yes, how?)
3. any other reccomendations you will give me will be appriciated.

BTW.. my dvds come with multiple files including DAT,.IFO and,.BUP. What do
these mean and what are these used for.

I have many more questions but I will save them for later

I suggest you visit these sites for the information your looking for as well
as some pretty good information as to how to go about it.
