Dvd rom cant connect

Hi guys i have a Asus P5G41T-M LX3 Mobo a got from a friend and builded a small pc for my son i cant seem to find a port to connect my dvd rom on the mobo other motherboards i know have brass pinns to connect from dvd rom to motherboard this one doesnt have that brass pinns. Sorry for my explanation im afrikaans.

It would probably be cheaper and easier to just purchase a new SATA DVD-ROM drive... OR... ask yourself if you really need a DVD-ROM drive.

Which connector does your DVD-ROM Drive have? IDE is the old school connector and no new motherboards carry them any longer.

Hi wolf thanks for reply the dvd rom have a ide cable that looks like 18pin connecter could be more,the mobo is a very old mobo it supports 775 socket but on the mobo there is no ide port to connect maybe another way? I can only connect the power to the dvd rom but no ide port on mobo

I think the only way to connect the dvd rom to that mobo is getting a IDE to SATA converter
