Dvd rom driver disabled

Hi, following Melissa's question does the same solution relate to Windows 7 on a laptop? I have been copying CDs and DVDs without a problem on a new Toshiba until this week and a Code 32 popped up and the driver disabled etc......exactly the same as Melissa's problem.

What are the basic specs of your system? Also, are you able to manually enable the device in Control Panel/Device Manager?

Go into the device manager, right click on the drive, uninstall it, and restart the computer. It will reinstall on restart, and reinstall the driver.
