After installing Windows 7 and working for a day, My PC does not show DVD ROM drive. I tried to reinstall driver, but error code-39 is displayed saying driver is corrupt. My DVD ROM is LG make.
It`s a sign that the lazer of the drive is starting to fail to read the disks you put in it.
You can try a lense cleaner disk if you have one and it may fix the problem due to a dirty lense.
If it does not work, then its time to think about buying a new DVD ROM/ WRITER DRIVE.
open windows explorer, on the left side right click and select, view all folders, see if the drive can be seen now, but it is dead/dying, mine just did that too
For all your software and hardware check the
Windows 7 Compatibility site: (There you will find out about hardware and software compatibilty.) http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx
There is a pulldown from which you can choose "hardware" and "software".
Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum specifically for IT Pros located here http://tinyurl.com/7jq7ps . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to also check the threads available there for additional assistance and feedback.

Does the LG drive work outside of Windows 7? Have you checked all physical connections to the drive? Perhaps you would consider plugging a new / test DVD ROM drive in for diagnostic purposes?

The LG make DVD ROM works well in other PCs with operating system like XP 7 Vista but not in Windows 7.
