A few weeks ago after booting I noticed that my DVD_RW wasn't showing when I clicked "computer". No problem with any of the other drives. I moved the cable of said drive to a different sata port on the mother board & that seemed to do the trick. Now, when I boot, all drives are showing, however, after the system has been running & in use for awhile the same drive disappears. None of the other drives are affected. Could it possibly be the ports? The port I changed to is adjacent to the one not working. Windows 10 home 64-bit, Intel Core i7 920, Gigabyte EX58-UD3R, Corsair 12GB DDR3 @532MHz, AMD Radeon HD 6850, DVD-RW, BD-ROM, 1TB WD hdd, Creative X-Fi, Corsair TX-650w ps. Any ideas?

Hey there, dhough11.

Well there's not a lot you can do in terms of troubleshooting when it comes to optical drives. You've tried a different port already, but you should also try it with different SATA cables, as it might be a faulty cables as well. However, it would be best if you can try it out with a different computer and see if the same thing happens. It could be a faulty DVD-RW as well.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.
