DVD/RW RUnning Slow

out of nowhere my DVD drives started running slow. Instead of taking 20 minutes to burn a dvd it now takes about 2 hours to burn a dvd anybody have any idea why?

You were monkeying with the software and set it for 2 passes?

That's what did it to me ...

No, the same thing is happening with watching DVD's. My computer starts becoming choppy and one of my cores is reading 100% while nothing under process is running that high.

NVM i got it, just had to reinstall all the IDE controllers from device manager and its running fine again.

Thats usualy the sign of a DMA problem, uninstalling the IDE drivers in device manager and restarting your pc usualy fixes it. Sometimes a scratched up disc can cause a drive to go into PIO mode which will really slow it down and cause various problems.
