Recently, because my dvd player has started freezing on discs, Ive been using dvd shrink for playing movies via its preview screen.
The problem is those damned black bars above and below the picture. For some reason, the preview displays the proper aspect ratio when minimized, but in full screen mode they are way too big. Id say the black bars together would make up just under half the screen if they were placed on top of each other, which is ridiculous.
when playing the same dvds on my dvd player, the black bars are much smaller. And thats playing them stock standard on the player too, with no changing anything or zooming to make the picture bigger
I was using Media Player Classic there for awhile to play dvds, but on a lot of them this player has some wierd problem in that the music is loud but you cant hear anyone talk
VLC Player had settings to fix this problem, but i cant find anything similar for Media Player Classic
As far as my normal dvd player goes, its only 2 1/2 years old but has started freezing on discs it didnt before and most annoyingly now, brand new dvds.
