DVD (UJ-857) does not read

I got dell xps m1330, DVD drive can be recognized by laptop, but could not read from DVD, saying 'please insert cd with data...'

Either there's an issue with your drive, or with the DVD itself. Try the DVD on another computer with a DVD drive.
