DVD will play games but not a DVD

TSSTcorp CDDVDW SU-208FB - I am able to play Project cars but cannot play a DVD. The DVD will play in my other computers but no my Toshiba laptop. Very confused. Not computer literate in any way. Please help if you can

Windows does not come with a DVD codec to play movies. Install VLC which should be able to play them fine.

I have had no issues playing dvd's including this one in the past. Sorry forgot that bit of information

Can you browse the context of the DVD like you can the harddrive? You should be able to do at least that.

Sorry for the late reply. I am unable to right click and obtain properties. Project Cars still loads and plays fine. I am able to play clips from You Tube, Just tried to install MYOB and am not able to do that. My computer runs TOSHIBA Media Player and Cyberlink. When I troubleshoot the system says the driver is running ok with version 10.0.10586.0 - TSSTcorp CDDVDW SU 208-FVB Any assistance would be great.
