DVD Writer problem on MSI GX 680

Hi all
My Pioneer DVD-RW DVRTD10RS does not burn any files on any CDs or DVDs after I installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 on my MSI GX 680. It reads the CDs and DVDs pretty well but does not burn files onto them.

I have tried every possible driver on my laptop but nothing has worked.

It is driving me mad!

please help!

MSI doesn't support Windows 10 on the GX680 (no Win10 drivers) so may be that's a contributing factor?

that's true but it used to work fine on my previous build of windows 10

You mean the previous Win10 installation?

yes, my DVD RW was working fine earlier but it's been a couple of weeks or months that I cannot burn any files

Faulty burner can't be ruled out. It's very possible for a faulty drive to read okay but not write. Not saying it's faulty, just saying it's possible.

so you're saying it has got nothing to do with windows? How can I fix this? or how to check if it's os-related?

Does Pioneer have a W10 driver? I definitely try that.

Got an old machine running Win7/XP to test?

Lastly, W7 on a VM.

I could not find any Pioneer driver
It's my laptop so I have to downgrade to W7?
However, I have tried W7 on a VM but the problem still exists! (The burning process finishes successfully but the disk is still empty)

Sounds like like hardware failure.
