[SOLVED] DVDR?

Verbatim is marketing optical disks as "DVDR". Are these DVD+R or DVD-R or something weird?

I only see the + and - formats:

See the marking on the box. It says "DVDR" with no + or -. Loads of people used to sell these, but I think they're kinda obsolete now.

Actually, the "Specifications" say DVD-R for this. Maybe that's true. If so, why can't they just say that on the box?

The + or - distinction is moot if your DVD drive was made within the last decade. DVD manufacturers supported both by default since then because there was no point in starting a format war over this.

Wikipedia also mentions the + format was accepted as part of the DVD standard in 2008, so that further makes the distinction moot.
