The Ide cable doesn't fit HDD-->DVDROM-->MOBO. Can I redo the jumpers switch them on the cable to make it DVDROM-->HDD-->MOBO?

Thanks.

Edit: Only have one IDE connection.

As long as the blue connector is still connected to the motherboard, yes, you can override the normal cable select settings.

Normally, when the devices connected to the IDE cable are set via jumpers to "cable select", the black connector (at the end of the cable) sets it's connected device to master, and the grey connector (in the middle of the cable) sets it's connected device to slave.

If you want it the other way around but the cable won't stretch/route like that, then just manually select the jumpers on each device, one device (presumably your hard drive) to master, and the other device (presumably the DVD-ROM) to slave. Then connect the devices to the connectors, whichever way fits the cable routing.
