This might seems stupid if so sorry , im gonna buy a new pc and monitor and since all of this really evolved since i last bought a monitor, nowadays is it possible to plug the pc to the monitor with hdmi? , does it deliver better performance than the dvi or vga ?

As long as both your monitor and motherboard or GPU supports HDMI, you can. You may have to buy a HDMI cable because monitors don't usually come with it.

HDMI = DVI without audio
HDMI > VGA

is it better than dvi?

I just said they're equal. The only difference is that HDMI also carry an audio channel. Quality-wise, they're about the same. HDMI is a tad better. But most monitors (not TVs) don't carry speakers, so the audio channel isn't the most useful thing to me.
