DVI connector adapter

I recently needed to get an adapter for my monitor. It only supports VGA. Now.. I bought this https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16882203021
I looked at it today.. And noticed it was different from a normal DVi D connector. Will these fit in my ASUS 1060 graphic card?

DVI-I supports analog and digital signals. Which is what you need for DVI to VGA. DVI-D only supports digital so you would have to buy an active adapter

DVI-D, HDMI and Displayport are digital. VGA is analog. The 2 arent compatible with each other.

So a normal adapter wont work / give you a signal with the above, if you use VGA

What does "active" mean..?

It converts digital to an analog signal so you get a signal on a TV / monitor
