Hi! I made a new system with EVGA GTX 1060 SC GAMING (http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-6163-KR)

The GPU in my old system is HIS HD 5870 which got a DVI-I interface (http://www.hisdigital.com/gb/product2-472.shtml) and my monitor is LG E2240S (http://www.lg.com/us/business/commercial-display/it-products/desktop-monitors/lg-E2240S-PN) which has a DSUB output. Therefore, I have always used a DVI-I-VGA adapter that was came in 5870 box. However, my new NVIDIA card has a DVI-D interface. As far as I know, DVI-I combines both analog and digital so it should work fine. But I want to be sure: Will an ATI DVI-I-VGA adapter work fine with EVGA GTX 1060?

Solution
No, it won't work. DVI-I and DVI-D are not compatible with each other. You will need to purchase an active DVI-D to VGA, HDMI to VGA, or DisplayPort to VGA converter for your system or swap monitors for one that has a native digital input.

I'm afraid not. DVI-I and DVI-D are two different standards. DVI-D does not carry an analog signal, and is not compatible with a DVI-I adapter. They do make DVI-D to VGA adapters, but they are active (they convert the signal from digital to analog) and not passive (rerouting the pins) adapters, and cost more.
