Hi there. After upgrading to an R9 390 recently I can't use a DVI to VGA adapter to display anything on my second monitor (Acer G206HQL). I think this is due to the 390's DVI port being DVI-D. I was wondering if I could instead use this adapter (http://www.amazon.co.uk/DisplayPort-Female-Adapter-Conv...), along with a VGA cable to get a picture on my monitor? Thanks.

Correct, DVI-D is digital output only. DVI-I carries both digital and analog (VGA) signals. So if that card only has DVI-D, you are out of luck for VGA.

Your link doesn't work for me, but there's no reason to run analog (VGA) anyway. That monitor has DVI input, doesn't it? http://www.acer.com.au/ac/en/AU/content/model/UM.IG6SA.C01
Just pick up a DVI cable and enjoy brighter, sharper displays than VGA.
