DVI-D single link vs dual link

My monitor came with a single link cable, I was expecting dual link as it can support it. Should I buy a dual link cable or is the difference not that big?

What size is your display? The other link could be for another input...

20" 1680x1050, both sides are single link, my graphic card and monitor can support dual link

If I remember correctly, you only need dual link if you're running a 30" monitor. You'll be fine with just one link 😉

I have a 24" Dell hooked up via single DVI to my Quadro FX3000.
