dvi-d to vga adapter for gt 1030

I want to buy a gt 1030 gigabyte or zotac. I have deel s1914h 1366x768p monitor. It has a vga port. Will a active dvi-d to vga connector work .?IS there any performance loss or driver crash in this case?
