Dvi-D to VGA?

I was wondering if i can connect Dvi-D to VGA using a Dvi-i to vga adapter.
Anyone knows?

The connector has to be DVI-I for it to carry the analog signal on the 4 pins around the flat one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

The question is not understandable at all, are you connecting 2 adapters ?
most recent cards has a DVI-I output, you can connect whatever to it whether it's DVI-I or DVI-D
