DVI-D vs. Displayport-DVI-D (both dual link)

I am replacing my vga cable, but I ran into two options for my monitor, I could either go with a DVI-D cable, or then a Displayport-DVI-D cable, the displayport connecting to GPU and the DVI-D on monitor.. wondering which one would be better for me..?

only use cables that change type where you have no choice, so dvi-dvi is best
