I was just looking at some eyefinity videos and have now wanted to try it out myself :). I am planning on getting 3 Acer 23.6" V243HQ 5ms LCD Monitor (http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=8212) and hooking that up to crossfire 6850s. I only have one gigabyte 6850 right now but will buy another one. These monitors have dvi and vga inputs and I don't know how to connect it to work with eyefinity. I could try buying a dvi to hdmi cable and using dvi-dvi-hdmi but I'm not too sure if that will work. Any specific cables or convertors I should use? After 5.1 speakers, a new headset, desk, 3 monitors, and another gigabyte 6850, I will have to spend $745 and my budget is around $800. I would appreciate it if all linked cables or convertors etc. are available in adelaide, SA and preferably from MSY or another close hardware store and if online they have to ship to australia.

Also just one more thing, my PSU is a $29 720watt psu from a-power and it is the P4-A720 and I am experiencing sudden restarting while playing crysis 2 on the single 6850, will this PSU supply sufficient power and reliability to cf 6850s?

I've got a 6950 at home, where I need to use a hdmi (or mini displayport) to dvi converter as well. I don't know if it'll work, but I've got a dvi to hdmi connector I got bundled with the old 4870x2, and I plan on trying to use that at the monitor end of my 24" lg - if it works and I don't forget, I'll tell you.

Hey. I fell ill and forgot about it. But long story short - I've just tried, and it doesn't work.

Or well it does, but not concurrent. The DVI-D and the hdmi connector don't work at the same time. Windows will still be able to detect both monitors, but can't switch both on at once. You can run hdmi and the DVI-I connector at once, but in the end you have to use a displayport for the third monitor no matter how you spin it.

ps. using a dvi to hdmi connector in the monitor end worked just fine.
