I was gonna buy a new GPU but realized that my monitor only uses DVI, and the graphics card does not have a DVI port. Can anyone help find a decent GPU that uses DVI? Thanks a lot. Budget is around $500.

Solution
I tried to get a HDMI to DVI cable, however it severely decreased the maximum resolution.

What is your monitor?

1080p is no issue, but if you mean refresh rate then that's a different kettle of fish and adapters for that sort of thing is north of $100 for an active Displayport to Dvi adapter. Not really worth it since that's a considerable chunk for a new monitor.
Your monitor has DVI I or D? If so then simple Hdmi to Dvi cable will work.

Dvi is being phased out in favour for Hdmi and Displayport. While there may be cards with Dvi, it is becoming more and more scarce.

You don't need a DVI output from your graphics card. Any digital output (DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort) can be used without issue. Just get an adapter cable.

I've never seen or heard of this happening.

Edit - In fact, I have an HDMI to DVI cable running to my secondary display right now (GTX 1060).
