DVI HDMI Cable and connection

So....I'll make this short since i don't have the patience to write an essay...

My monitor only has a DVI-I Dual link connection while in shops, They sell only a DVI-D Dual link-HDMI cables. Am i able to connect a DVI-D dual link to a DVI-I dual link? If so, Will it work the same as connecting a DVI-I to a DVI-I?

Yes, a DVI-I has analog as well as digital pins. See Wikipedia -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface#Connector
