DVI-I to SVGA doesn't work with GTX980

I just bought a DVI-I to SVGA adapter, plug into my GTX980 and connect to the monitor. As a result I get: Check display input.

How can I solve this?

Well only thing you can do is double check if your GPU got DVI-I connector (if GPU got multiple DVI check if you are using right one as usually only one of those is DVI-I).
After that you can try to change cable if it doesn't help only other options are either adapter, monitor or gpu are faulty.

Mostlikely culprit would be faulty adapter you just got. If you can try to test it with different PC.

Yes your 980 needs a DVI-I connector to work with that adapter. If it / they are DVI-D, then you don't have analog out. In which case you'll need and active converter to go from digital to analog.

It have 2 DVI connectors, one of them DVI-I and the other is DVI-D. I guess that I'm connecting the adaptor to the DVI-I because on the other port I can connect smoothly. Unfortunately I don't have any other PC where I can try.

I was wondering if there any option in the configuration of the GPU that makes this work.

Yeah the adapter shouldn't plug into a DVI-D port as there is no place for the 4 analog (Red, Green, Blue, GND) to go, Looking at that picture, you must have the adapter plugged into the lower DVI port.

There shouldn't be any configuration necessary, analog signals should be present at the DVI-I connector all the time. Have you tried another VGA cable?

Yes, I tried two cable. I don't know if is the monitor or the adapter or what... What I should do?

Do you have anything else that puts out a analog signal? Like a laptop that has VGA out or something like that. That way you can see if the monitor works>

I try with another two monitor and still doesn't work. So I guess that the adapter don't work.

Yes if you've tried multiple cables and monitors, then it's either the adapter or the card. Most likely the adapter. Did one not come with the card?
