Hello guys i have pluged my DVI I (Daul link adapter) to VGA and conected to my old ASUS VW192s 1400x900p 75Hz max res.

Now i could not get in windows because it was showing me OUT OF RANGE.Than in safe mdoe installed new drivers, runed in F8 VGA smallest res and than i have aces to desktop where i cant set my res to 1400x900 i mean tehe native ist 1024x768 and the normal is 1400x900p but is not in the list.

I did not have any problems like this while using only VGA (RADEON R7 250) Now the GTX 960 doesnot have VGA so the adapter is making problems ?

Solution
That sounds like a good plan. I doubt the GTX960 would be affected much by that resolution. Even expensive monitors didn't used to work as well at non-default settings. They would look better however, without having to change alignment and other settings. Some time later you might check to see if the monitor still works with the R7 250 but it's probably not worth it now.

The screws on the adapter must be tide uo i mean my one of the screws cant get into the whole in the gpu and the other is fine.Should i force it but i dont think this is the poblem if its giving me image + on the tv 1080p i have tested the adapter and everything was fine but this monitor its causing problems.JUST WY I CANT SELECT 1400X900P IN NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL OR I CANT FORCE IT .I did not have problems liek this using AMD

If you had both NVidia and AMD drivers on the system you would have needed to completely uninstall one version. Only the latest boards may allow both to coexist.

I have seen differences for non-native resolutions. The manufacturer may not believe it should be included, at least for a warranty.
Some boards will not allow DVI-I VGA adapters, only DVI-D.

If you are using the adapter provided by the manufacturer on that device it shouldn't matter. The display provides a list of resolutions to use. The Radeon may have added values to the list or used it's own list. With CRT displays you could expect a shorter lifetime using non-native resolutions. That's up to you to decide. I think it could just be a bad installation though.

But look now on my TV also conected with VGA and the adapter i can get ot 1920x180p resolution without any problems. Now if i set mt res to 1336x768 i get wawes on my monitor than changed the refresh rate and resolution ti 1280x1024 and again wawes but in 72Hz there are no wawes. Now can i use the pc like this on non native resolution for 3 weeks to get some money and than buy chipest BenQ monitor 1080p with DVI-I port ?

That monitor is old so it probably needs repair and a new monitor is a good idea. I looked up the monitor which has a native resolution of 1440x900 widescreen. That is what you should be getting as the default (normal). The monitor could interfere with computer power management like sleep and turning off but it sounds like the problem is the main board, not the power board. Haven't owned an ASUS so I don't know. The graphics card could suffer trying to deliver the signal to the monitor so I'd recommend using only the TV if possible. The screws for the port on the monitor should be tight so you can then get the adapter on correctly with those screws.

I will continiue using the old monitor (to December)..I have changeed the resolution to 1280x1024 72Hz and there are no wawes. The resolutoon is ok but still is strange i mean its not like the native. For gaming i will switch to my Tv than get back to my old monitor.im using it only for browser and facebook games not gaming because i dont want to damage something.Tomorow i will switch to my TV using the HDMI tahn monday again back to this monitor.Thats not problem for the GPU right ?

Thx for reply 😀
