DVI-I to VGA using DVI-A adapter

Hey guys, I bought a MSI Radeon 7730. It has a DVI-I port, no VGA ports. I've already ordered the correct adapter. My friend has a DVI-A to VGA adapter. Since DIV-I supports both analog and digital, can I use the DVI-A adapter to connect to a VGA monitor since VGA is already analog.... or would it only work with the DVI-I to VGA adapter. Sorry if this is not considered as a 'real' question but this is the first time I am dealing with DVI cables. Any advice greatly appreciated.. Thanks guys!

You can plug a DVI-A adapter into the DVI-I port and it will run the VGA monitor.

In fact DVI-I dual link ports accept all DVI adapters and cables.
