DVI monitor stuck on VGA/Analog [SOLVED]

I just picked up a new tablet monitor (a Yiynova MVP22U) to use as a second monitor and I'm trying to get it set up, the monitor has a built in DVI cable which I hooked up to the DVI slot on my graphics card (a Geforce GTX 550 ti). For some reason the OSD says its in VGA/Analog mode and I can't change it, switching the input to DVI causes the screen to black out and show the message 'No Signal' for a moment before going back to VGA again.

I managed to fix it once somehow by switching which of the two ports the monitor was plugged into, I loaded up the computer and it was in DVI/Digital mode and working fine for the whole time it was on, then when I turned it off and back on again later it was back to VGA mode and I haven't been able to fix again since.

It wouldn't be a big issue but in VGA mode there are very subtle horizontal lines scrolling across the screen. They don't show up during startup or in the BIOS, only when it gets to the desktop.

Does anyone have any idea of what could be causing this? I'm worried maybe my graphics card needs to be replaced but I really hope thats not the case.

EDIT: Apologies if this is in the wrong subforum, I meant to post it in the Displays subforum.

Solution
well people say this bunch seems easy to work with maybe contact them and get there input ??

'' contacted the vendor via Amazon support. Panda City responded within the day, came back with a suggested fix the next and when the fix didn’t resolve the issue, agreed to send me a replacement immediately. I only shipped back my original once I’d received the new one and confirmed that it was working properly''

''. Panda City generously offered to swap the monitor out originally for the firmware patch, then let me pay the difference to get an upgrade.''

Solution
Yeah, I figured if it came down to it I would contact them about exchanging it, but I didn't want to go through it all if the new one might not work either. I was hoping to find out if it might be my graphics card or something else first.

I'll be sure to contact them to ask if they might know of anything that might cause something like this though, I just figured I'd post on here since it could be something simple I'm overlooking that someone else might catch right away.

well they maybe trying to get things off the ground and have some issues along the way but it looked like guys had issues with them seemed they were satisfied with there support and service

if you got the lemon that's all there maybe to it and they understand that and willing to make things right - look how many well known company's give you the r run a round hoping you just go away ??

I googled it around as I'm sure you did and did not see anything on that issue you got , so...????

Found the solution! 😀 I contacted the company and they got back to me really quick and mentioned that my graphics card might have been configured wrong or something, I checked and didn't find anything but while checking I realized my drivers were out of date. I thought for sure that I had updated them recently but as it turns out I was using a version that was really well known for having these exact problems, I just never got lucky enough to stumble any topics mentioning it during my initial search. 😛

One driver update later and it's working fine! As soon as I plugged it in it immediately switched to digital mode with no lines or glitches.

I hadn't really thought to contact the company in the first place since I figured it was something wrong with my computer, even though their fix didn't work it ended up leading to the solution so thanks a bunch for suggesting I do so!
