Just a quick question. I'm going to be buying the Acer XB271HU 1440p 144hz monitor for my upcoming build and don't know which cable to use to connect to gpu. Do i use a DVI cable or a Display port cable?

Thanks

DP.
However, I thought it had a DP and HDMI connection, no DVI.

And HDMI is probably a typical 60Hz input but I could be wrong.

Update: I'm right, it's HDMI up to 2560x1440@60Hz. The DP connection allows full 165Hz

Anyway, it's DP + NVidia card for GSYNC to work, with HDMI meant for secondary devices.

update:
165Hz is an overclock from 144Hz.

Some info I read suggests it may affect the color. possibly related to OVERDRIVE (which drives the voltage too high for a short term to get the pixels to change color quicker... it can be problematic)

I would stay with 144Hz

Overdrive is a separate setting to display overclocking. Ghosting can appear as an artifact of overclocking or from overdrive, but theat doesn't mean they are necessarily related.

It doesn't hurt to try to go for 165Hz, anyway. In the worst case, OP can just set it back if the display doesn't like it.
