DVI or VGA cable?

I'm building a new PC and I am going to use my old monitor and VGA cable using a VGA F DVI M adapter as the R9 270X only has DVI and HDMI connections but I've read online that cheap VGA cables can damage quality so would I be better of buying a DVI cable and a DVI F VGA M adapter? This is only for a month or two until I buy a new monitor.

They are both roughly the same. Atleast with what I know.

The DVI cable is far more of higher quality than the VGA hands down. You'd be better off buying the adapter.

So I should buy a DVI F VGA M adapter to plug in to monitor and connect that to my GPU with a DVI cable. Would just a cheap £5 DVI cable work fine?

Yes that's how much they'd usually cost nothing more expensive.

But, when the DVI cable carries analog signals (Like here) it is roughly the same. DVI as an digital interface is much better.
