I am shopping for a 19-inch LCD. My application is mostly web surfing, text editing and photo/video editing.

Since I do not game much, does DVI make much of a difference ?

LCD use a digital signal, verses analog.
So, with analog, signal has to be converted to digital. DVI is better.

And the sign says "You got to have a membership card to get inside" Huh
So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign</pre><p></font color=red>

I understand that DVI is better.
Since I do not game much and based on my applications, is DVI important ?

You get a better image with DVI, if getting a LCD, try to get DVI connectors for best quality/performance.

perhaps i can help things you need to concider.

surffing the net, text and such doesn't matter.

photo/video editing may matter, depending on how detailed your work is.

typicly its just better to go with DVI as the image quality can be a bit better. but if you have some reason to go with VGA. like its cheaper...compatibility on another machines...ect

the differance isn't ALOT.

I say go with DVI.
