Dvi port not working on my motherboard

My DVI port which is connected to my motherboard doesn't work and doesn't produce the picture on my monitor, but when i connect my DVI to my video cards DVI port it works, but does not transfer any sound when it would normally transfer the video and sound when it was connected to my motherboards DVI port.

Can anyone find out a solution?

DVI does not transfer sound.
The onboard DVI does not work when a graphics card is installed, unless changing the BIOS settings.
For sound, connect the speakers to the onboard 3.5mm ports.
