Hey, yesterday I got some new parts for my pc and built it all, the only old parts in my pc atm is my ram and my ssd+hdd. The GPU I got was a used one, 4 months old with no issues prior apparantly.

I put it all together and it worked perfectly yday. When I woke up today and turned on my pc my second monitor which had been plugged in the whole night said no signal found but my other monitor which used hdmi at least worked. The other monitor was a bit weird as well, when it turned on it had a really low resolution which after like 30 seconds of it being on changed itself back to 1920x1080. I dont know if this is vital information or not, probably not i guess.

I tried turning the PC off, taking the DVI-D cable out, turning the PC back on and then putting the cable in but it still said no signal. Then I switched to hdmi for both monitors and it works.

Is it a problem with the DVI port on my GPU or is there something else I can try. I dont really understand how it can work fine and then over night it just fails. I dont want to use hdmi and limit myself to 60 hz. ^^

Follow up:

Today when I turned my pc on I decided to try my DVI-D cable again, this time it worked but my other screen that was using HDMI now got no signal. Well untill I logged in and then a lot of stuff started happening, screens were blinking black going on and off, and then suddenly both my screens were working.

The same thing as last time happened as well where at first the resolution was set to the lowest possible when in the login screen but then after one screen flash it went back to 1920x1080 after I logged in. Then another screen flash and my second monitor worked. This all seems pretty weird to me lmao.

Second follow up:

Yesterday the HDMI port for the 60hz monitor didnt work (it did start working again randomly with some screen flashes) while the DVI worked for the 144hz monitor. Today the DVI port didnt work (no signal) for the 144hz again, I then tried the HDMI port on the 144hz screen and that worked. The 60hz screen was the first to work today, using HDMI. The same thing that has happened all the days where the resolution is totally reset happened again.

When I turn my PC off and on again now, nothing changes. But it is when I turn it off at night and it has 8 hours of sleep that it just resets every day it feels like. Something else that is a bit off is that my SSD with windows on it didnt show up in boot priority the first time I was in bios settings after building it. But it did show when I clicked show all options or something. I checked the bios after that to see if it had started showing up in boot priority but it still only shows when I click show all or whatever that button near the bottom of it is called.

The first time I booted doing that, just clicking my SSD from that list there was a weird noise before I got to the login screen and that same weird noise happens every time I start the pc today when I get near the login screen so I just have a feeling all the problems are from that but who knows.

Would be nice if someone has any ideas. 😀
